SMI president Darius Anderson delivered the keynote address at the California Newspaper Publishers Association’s annual Government Affairs Day in Sacramento on Jan. 23, 2013. Among the topics he discussed were the economic future of the news media industry, the vital role newspapers play in the local and state legislative process  and the political and economic challenges and opportunities for the state of California.

Anderson, who made fast friends with CNPA publishers, fielded solid and sometimes skeptical questions regarding the short- and long-term mission of a successful state lobbyist who is now a passionate advocate for the newspaper industry.
